  • See Emma Bridgewater’s kitchen and her Norfolk garden.
Emma talks about starting her pottery 40 years ago age 23, and she gives great design advice on the verandas she has built…
Emma loves pelargoniums. See how she manages to grow them, even though they have to survive without her for regular periods and without a heated greenhouse. Emma shows what it is possible to achieve with the help of your local salvage yard and a team of trusted builders.

I really appreciate your interviews with people who are back to nature and not so contrived with their gardens.

A delight to find this Bunny Guinness interview with Emma Bridgewater! I represented her company on the West Coast when she introduced her iconic pottery to the American market. Now, a botanical artist, I credit her endearing and enduring designs with inspiring my passion for all things natural and wild. What a lovely "let it go" property! She is UK national treasure!

I love how Miss Emma was inspired by the architecture in the United States! It's pretty rare. With all the sensational architecture in Britain and Europe that she would choose American vernacular is really cool!
BTW, the verandas in Charleston, South Carolina are called "piazzas". They are designed to catch the breezes from the sea.
My grandparents home outside of Boston, Massachusetts had a widow's walk that always blew down in hurricanes and Nor'easter storms. But my grandfather always had it rebuilt. We loved going up there to watch the sailboats and ships.
    Cheers from North Carolina USA

Thank you for this truly inspiring video, my Mother worked as a fetter /sponger for many years in the the pottery industry. The breathing life of Stoke nearly gone for ever , thanks to Emma Bridgewater we still have some of our heritage left. 😊

What a treat!! My kitchen is awash with her pottery! Have collected it for decades. Loved the home she had with Matthew Rice, and this one is even homier. Lovely video as always.

I found the discussion on smoke interesting. As a child I loved the smell of smoke too. Unfortunately, as an adult it is no longer a smell I enjoy. I live in California and we have terrible air quality every Summer and Fall due to rampant wildfires throughout the State that are growing worse with each year. Thankfully you don’t have that in the UK. It is just terrible, I hope you never experience wildfires or dread the smell of smoke.

I wonder how will the newly made redundant employees of her firm feel about her lacking a ridiculous AGA 🤣 utter disconnection with reality with the cushion lots of money provides. As for the potted rose looking shocking is nothing new, so may underwhelming recent introductions by Austin with really weak scents. Good luck to her firm going forward and hopefully they can be more successful in the future as the potteries are worth keeping alive.
